Detective Pikachu Game Show Pikachu Talking for the First Time

The Pokémon Company revealed on Wednesday that it will release the Famous Detective Pikachu: The Debut of a New Duo (Meitantei Pikachu: Shin Combi Tanj?) game as a digital download for Nintendo 3DS on February 3 in Japan. The game features a "Pikachu youve never seen before" with a voice similar to Toru Ohkawa.

The game story is placed in Lime City, a city where people and Pokémon coexist. A boy called Tim Goodman came in this town with a certain goal. Tim and Pikachu meet by chance at the city, and a brand-new adventure commences here.

People who pre-order the game between January 27 and February 29 will obtain the game for 1,200 yen (around US$10). After that, it will cost 1,500 yen (around US$12).

Nintendo registered a trademark for "Meitantei Pikachu" (Famous Detective Pikachu) for a diversity of services including video games in October 2013. NHKs Professional Work Style (Professional Shigoto no Ry?gi) program announced later that month that a "top secret" Pikachu game would starring the mascot as a detective. The game would feature Pikachu speaking for the first time in the game franchise and was anticipated to be finished in two years.
